A $30,675 grant from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba allowed Camp Massad to undergo long-overdue infrastructure upgrades to the aging facility. Upgrades included re-roofing their over 20-year-old "Oolam", the main programming venue, and an
air-conditioning unit for the camp kitchen. The camp infirmary otherwise known as "the Marp", was refreshed with new panelling creating a cleaner and more sanitary presence for campers and staff.
Campers were also treated to a nice surprise as two electric fans were installed in each of their cabins to make camp life more bearable during heat waves. "Campers were so excited about having fans installed in their cabins," says Lesley Jacob, Executive Director at Camp Massad. "The grant given by the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba has truly made a long lasting impact not only on the infrastructure at Camp Massad, but also on the campers whose needs have been addressed for many years to come!"
