presents David Asper with artwork from their School of Expressive Arts

In 2006, Siloam Mission launched its School of Expressive Arts, a place of creative expression, transition and healing for its patrons - Winnipeg's poor and homeless. In 2008, a $10,000 grant from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, allocated by David and Ruth Asper allowed the program to add much needed supplies, cupboards, easels and stools to its school. In appreciation, Siloam Mission presented David with a painting created by a patron and gave him the opportunity to speak at their recent "Change Happens" gala.

"The gift made through the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba will be life changing for our patrons," says Linda Warkentin, Communications Director at Siloam Mission. "This program will provide the tools and guidance necessary for our patrons to transition to a healthy and self-sufficient lifestyle."
