Investing Today - Is There An Upside?

The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba is pleased to welcome June Ntazinda and Daniel Bubis as guest presenters at this year’s Professional Advisor Seminar. These
leading experts in the investment world will help sort out some of the principal questions of the day: How did we get here? What is going on with the markets? Where are we headed? How can I ensure my investment strategy is solid?

June Ntazinda, President and Chief Executive Officer of I3 Advisors Inc., has 22 years of experience in the financial industry, both in the capital markets and in investment management. June became interested in the investment management industry with the goal of assisting clients to develop and execute investment strategies that would preserve and grow capital. Her extensive investment management experience includes: leading the private client discretionary investing counselling Ontario division of a major bank; managing bonds and US equities; and executing the position of Chief Investment Officer at a national investment counselling firm prior to becoming a partner of Ernst & Young to lead Ernst & Young Investment Advisers as President.

In April of 2005, June purchased Ernst & Young Investment Advisers and renamed it I3 Advisors Inc. I is a registered investment counsel that provides independent investment advice to wealthy families and institutions across Canada, including the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. The business has grown over the past few years from $1.8 billion to $3.8 billion in assets under advisement due to a growing interest in independent advice.

As President and Chief Investment Officer of Tetrem Capital Management, Daniel Bubis is one of the most successful investment managers in Canada today. He credits a disciplined adherence to a value-based, contrarian investment philosophy. Daniel has been the portfolio manager for the United Canadian Equity Value Pool since its inception in 1993 and was appointed Lead Portfolio Manager of CI Canadian Investment Fund in October 2006. Prior to launching Tetrem, Daniel was with Assante Asset Management Ltd., where he held the position of Chief Investment Officer and was part of the executive management group. At Assante, he was responsible for all investment management operations and the selection and monitoring of sub-advisors. His strong track record placed Assante pools among the country’s top performers. During his time with Assante, assets under management grew from $100 million to more than $7 billion.
