Donate Today to The Class of ’98 Fund in memory of Adam Potash
To mark the 20th anniversary of our graduation, the graduating class of Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate (now Gray Academy) is starting an endowment fund in memory of our friend and classmate, Adam Potashz''l. The fund is housed within the Gray Academy Educational Endowment Fund and all interest accrued will be used to support mental health programming and resources for Gray Academy students.
Adam was a magnetic, funny, multi-talented person and a good friend. He was skilled in basketball and hockey (especially as a goalie), he was at the top of our class academically, and he was one of our class's go-to comedy writers for plays, skits and songs. Adam could be shy and introverted, but that shyness disappeared every summer at Camp Massad, where Adam shone, first as a camper and then as a counsellor.
We lost Adam to suicide at the age of 19, only a year and a half after we graduated. We look forward to this fund becoming a part of Adam's and our class's legacy.
We also mean for this fund to honour Adam's mother, Marlene Potash (z”l), who became a tireless advocate for suicide awareness and prevention after we lost Adam, through the group SPEAK which Marlene founded and led until her passing.
We hope you will join us in contributing to this important cause.
