Organizational Endowment Funds

Providing support for valuable community organizations

Most community organizations struggle daily to meet their budgets and determine sources of funding for operations and programs. For many, traditional sources of funding are diminishing along with increased pressure to find ongoing, secure resources that will allow the organization to move ahead with confidence.

An Organizational Endowment Fund can provide such security for an organization. The monies in an endowment fund are invested, and each year the income from that fund is directed back to the organization. An Organizational Endowment Fund provides a perpetual income stream, giving the organization a protected revenue source that it can rely on from year to year.

The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba is assisting organizations with the development of their own endowment funds. JFM staff can help by:

• Planning the endowment campaign with the organization's endowment committee
• Assisting with donor identification strategies
• Helping to establish financial targets
• Providing templates for print materials
• Presenting endowment information to boards and potential donors
• Providing information about the Jewish Foundation: investment, distribution, and operations policies
