Young author receives prestigious award
Each year, the Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada's Mina Rosner Human Rights Award is presented to a student in grade 9-12 who has written an essay on human rights. The award, a monetary prize, is financed through the Mina Rosner Memorial Fund housed at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.
This year’s winner is Rosemund Ragetli, a student at Westwood Collegiate, whose essay “The Silence of History” gives a profoundly insightful and heart-wrenching look at a high schooler’s eye-opening experience travelling around Europe on a Holocaust education trip.
