Grants

It is a remarkable achievement. Since 1964, the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba has accumulated over $135 million in its community endowment fund. The income distributed to life-enriching organizations each year is a tribute, not only to the donors who have established a lasting legacy for future generations, but also to our founders.

Because of the flexibility offered to donors in establishing their funds at the JFM, over 70% of the distributions are made in direct accordance with the wishes of the donors. The Foundation's Grants and Scholarships Committees therefore allocate less than 30% of the annual income available for distribution. Such discretionary grants are given primarily for the benefit of the Jewish community in Manitoba.

The Foundation exists because people have seen the value of endowment giving and supporting our community from generation to generation. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the foundation is able to assist a wide range of organizations that provide services that improve the quality of life in our community.
